Managing Director
David Hildrow
RGH has always been part of David’s life — quite literally. As the son of company founder Robert George Hildrow, he grew up alongside the business, with childhood memories of playing in the factory before it even opened its doors. Officially joining the company over 20 years ago after earning a degree in Advertising and Marketing, David has since worked across every part of RGH, learning the processes, materials, and relationships that underpin the business. Today, as Director, he leads with a balance of tradition and innovation, ensuring the company stays true to its core values while continually evolving to meet modern challenges.
Getting to Know Me
What I Do at RGH
As Director, no two days look the same for David. One moment might be spent meeting with the team or analysing day-to-day operations, the next nurturing supplier relationships or working directly with customers. His focus is on keeping RGH agile and competitive while staying grounded in the principles the company was built on: honesty, flexibility, quality, and genuine care for clients.

Journey
How did you get started in manufacturing/converting?
Let’s just say I’ve known about manufacturing and converting for a very long time. My father founded RGH back in 1986, so I’ve grown up with the business. One of my earliest memories is being pushed around the floor of our brand-new factory on a skateboard while it was still being built! Officially, I joined RGH more than 20 years ago, but in many ways, I’ve been part of the journey since day one.
-
What’s your background before joining RGH?
After completing a degree in Advertising and Marketing, I stepped straight into RGH. From there, I worked my way through the business, learning every aspect from the ground up. That hands-on experience continues to shape how I approach leadership today.

Role
What does a typical day look like for you?
No day is truly typical. I could be meeting with colleagues to review projects, developing stronger ties with suppliers, or working directly with customers. I also spend time analysing operations to make sure we’re running efficiently while looking for opportunities to innovate and grow.
-
Do you specialise in any materials, processes, or sectors?
I’d like to think I know the products and processes pretty well by now, but the truth is we’re always learning. By strengthening partnerships with suppliers and adding new materials and adhesives to our range, there are always fresh challenges to our converting capabilities — which keeps things interesting.

Life & Spirit
What does life outside work look like?
Outside of work, I’m happiest experiencing live music, going to festivals, travelling, and spending quality time with friends. I’m also a lifelong Arsenal fan (for better or worse!) and a proud parent to a very energetic five-year-old who keeps me on my toes.
