Reticulated Foam
Reticulated foam is a lightweight, net-like material with an open-cell structure that allows air and water to pass through while trapping dust, particles, and contaminants. Available in a wide PPI range to suit your application.
What is Reticulated Foam?
‘Reticulated’ means net-like, and reticulated foams take on this structure due to their very open-cell design.
This unique structure allows air and water to flow freely through the material, while still capturing unwanted dust, dirt, and particles within its cells.
The performance of reticulated foam is governed by PPI – pores per inch. A lower PPI (e.g. 10) produces large cells for minimal flow restriction, while a higher PPI (e.g. 60) creates a denser structure capable of filtering smaller particles and restricting flow more effectively. This makes reticulated foam highly versatile for filtration, airflow control, and acoustic applications.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions About Reticulated Foam
Got a question about reticulated foam? Explore our FAQs below.
-
What is reticulated foam typically used for?
Reticulated (open-cell) foam is used for filtration, acoustic control, air flow applications, and fluid management systems.
-
What makes reticulated foam different from standard foam?
It has a skeletal, highly open structure created through a reticulation process, providing excellent permeability.
-
Is reticulated foam washable or reusable?
Yes. It is chemically stable and can be washed and reused in many filtration or cleaning applications.
-
Can reticulated foam be produced in different pore sizes (PPI)?
Yes. It is available in a range of PPI ratings (pores per inch) to control filtration efficiency and airflow.
-
Can reticulated foam be converted into custom filter shapes?
Absolutely. We cut, shape, and laminate reticulated foam for custom filtration and acoustic components.
