IT Manager

Stuart Wildig

With a career in IT spanning back to the mid-1990s, Stuart has witnessed and shaped the digital evolution from the very beginning. Having first supported RGH as an external consultant in 2007, he officially joined the business in 2021 to develop and manage its IT infrastructure. His role balances the need to keep systems running seamlessly with driving continual improvements that enhance productivity and collaboration across every department.

Getting to Know Me

What I Do at RGH

As IT Manager, Stuart focuses on two core responsibilities: keeping systems running smoothly and continually improving them. His time is split between ensuring stability day-to-day and developing tools and processes that improve information flow, analysis, and productivity across the business.

A big part of his role is also communication. Stuart believes IT works best when everyone feels comfortable raising issues or sharing ideas, so he makes a point of engaging with staff at all levels — and yes, even a bowl of sweets on his desk helps encourage those conversations.

  • Journey

How did you get into the industry?

I had my first hands-on computing experience in 1980 when I was just three years old. By 1995, I was working professionally in IT development — often having to explain to companies what a website actually was! My relationship with RGH began in 2007 providing IT support, and in 2021 I joined full-time to help build the IT infrastructure that underpins the business today.

  • Role

What do you enjoy most about your role?

Problem-solving. Computers can be frustrating when they don’t work as expected, but the satisfaction of fixing issues outweighs the challenges. Every problem solved makes the next one easier — persistence is key, and I enjoy the reward of getting things working better than before.

  • Life & Spirit

What does life outside work look like?

I love puzzles and games, from the Telegraph Cryptic Crossword to Wordle — though my proudest puzzling achievement was appearing on Only Connect. I’m a reluctant runner, but it helps keep me fit for activities like tennis, skiing, and keeping up with my growing number of nieces and nephews. I’m also a devoted Liverpool FC supporter and love travelling to new countries, especially exploring cities on foot.

Need Help with IT or Systems?
